Sridhar Vembu is the co-founder and former CEO of Zoho Corporation, a global leader in cloud-based software solutions for businesses. He founded the company in 1996 under the name AdventNet, which was later renamed Zoho Corp in 2009. Known for his unconventional approach, Vembu chose to build Zoho’s main development center in rural India, focusing on nurturing local talent and promoting self-reliance. Under his leadership, Zoho became a billion-dollar, bootstrapped company with a diversified product portfolio and a strong emphasis on research and development. In 2021, Sridhar Vembu was honored with the Padma Shri award for his contributions to trade and industry. He stepped down as CEO in early 2025 to focus on R&D and his rural development mission.
